One inmate is receiving medical attention after a suicide attempt at the Butler County Prison on Thursday, Jan. 16, according to Sheriff Mike Slupe, who heads the county’s prison board.

First responders were called to the jail at nearly 9:30 p.m. Thursday for the incident. The inmate was taken to the hospital.

Slupe said the prison board was notified of the situation and that the inmate was receiving medical attention.
