Dog license prices increase by 45 cents
Dog owners in Butler County should be seeing reminders in the mail that they need to renew their pet’s license for a little bit more money than this year.
All classes of licenses will be 45 cents more in 2011.
That added amount has Butler County Treasurer Diane Marburger anxious that people will send in checks made out for the former amount, making for more work in her office to get the proper amount paid and delaying the licenses from getting to pet owners.
The new renewal amounts are $8.45 for a nonsenior with an unaltered dog; $6.45 for a senior citizen with an unaltered dog; $6.45 for a nonsenior with a neutered dog; and $4.45 for a senior with a neutered dog.
The office also offers lifetime licenses. They cost $21.45 for a senior with an altered dog; $31.45 for a senior with an unaltered dog; $31.45 for a nonsenior with an altered dog; and $51.45 for a nonsenior with an unaltered dog.
Marburger said initial registration and renewal licenses may be processed online through the county’s website. There is a $2 charge for online registration.
