College roundup: Knoch grad leads PSU-Behrend with big game; SRU basketball swept by Clarion

Knoch grad Madilyn Boyer scored a season-high 20 points with four 3-pointers in Penn State-Behrend women’s basketball’s 98-47 win Monday against Carlow.

The junior guard is averaging 11.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.

SRU men drops contest with Clarion

Slippery Rock men’s basketball fell 97-87 to PSAC foe Clarion on Saturday.

Jomo Goings scored a team-high 20 points and enters Monday 20 points away from 1,000 for his career. Luke Howes scored 19 points and Sheick Samoura chipped in 18.

SRU women fall to Clarion

The Rock lost Saturday 92-72 to Clarion and fell to 7-10 (4-7 PSAC).

Sophia Hook and Brooklyn Jones led SRU with 14 points, with Jones adding five rebounds and four assists.

Pitt men lose to Clemson in OT

Ishmael Leggett scored a team-high 18 points in Saturday’s 78-75 overtime loss Saturday to ACC rival Clemson.

Jaland Lowe and Cameron Corhen scored 15 points each.

Pitt women downed by UNC

The Panthers dropped a 75-58 decision Sunday at home to the Tar Heels. Mikayla Johnson scored a game-high 18 points. Khadija Faye recorded her eighth double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
