Knoch earns award for female representation in AP computer science

This year, Knoch High School has earned a Female Diversity Award from College Board for boosting female representation in the AP Computer Science Principles class.

To qualify for the award, a school must either reach at least 50% female participation in one of the AP computer courses, or reach a percentage of exam takers in the course that exceeds that of the school’s female population. Knoch was one of 1,153 schools to meet that criteria.

AP Computer Science Principles is one of the two AP computer science programs offered, and was launched in 2016-17 as a “stepping-stone” course to more advanced AP STEM courses.
