Driver taken to hospital after vehicle rolls over in Portersville
PORTERSVILLE — A woman was taken to the hospital for injuries Tuesday morning, Jan. 21, after her vehicle overturned along West Portersville Road.
The crash was reported shortly after 9:30 a.m. near the Portersville-Muddy Creek Volunteer Fire Department building. No other vehicles were involved.
According to Portersville Fire Lt. Tyler Hinkle, the vehicle was traveling westbound before crossing the opposing lane of traffic and launching into a wooded area off the road.
The vehicle came to a stop on its driver’s side, trapping the woman inside.
Portersville-Muddy Creek fire and EMS services arrived on scene shortly after and began working to get the driver out. Prospect Volunteer Fire Department and state police also responded.
West Portersville Road was closed for about 30 minutes before one-lane traffic was established, Hinkle said.
State police said the driver’s injuries appear to be minor, and that she specifically mentioned pain in the back and ribs. She was transported to Allegheny General Hospital.
M D Hitch towing was called to the scene to remove the vehicle.
