Miller Minutes: ‘Sign up to audition’

Miller Minutes with Butler Eagle reporter, Molly Miller

Your feet are probably cold. Your hands may be numb. As scary as it is to go outside, you may be itching for something to do.

And you came looking in the right place.

There’s a lot happening in Butler County, but I have to take this opportunity to shamelessly plug a few specific events in the theater community.

You’ll be able to tell by the sheer multitude of entries that it is one of our busiest seasons. That’s because we know how bored you all are! We want you to get off of your couches and into our mezzanine seats … or, even better, get backstage with us.

The shows we put on don’t happen by themselves. It takes a slew of volunteers to act, play music, build sets, make costumes, run tech and sell tickets.

While this seems like a lot of work, I can promise you it doesn’t feel like it. Why? Because the people you meet in these darkened theaters are some of the funniest, creative and kind souls around. They give Butler a heartbeat, and they give you something to do when the mercury isn’t budging.

So, if you’re looking to throw yourself headfirst into a community that will change your life, sign up to audition for or help out any one of the theater or arts organizations in Butler. We will welcome you with open arms!

There are other sorts of activities happening this weekend. Take a look below.
