Sarver man charged with strangulation
A Sarver man was arrested for assaulting his stepdaughter Friday, Jan. 17.
On Jan. 17, state police were dispatched to 439 N. Pike Road. According to the affidavit, state troopers were responding to an active assault incident, where a juvenile female was being choked by her stepfather.
The affidavit said when state troopers arrived, Paul S. Brosenitsch, 51, told them he is the victim’s adopted father, and that he told her to take medicine after she said she wasn’t feeling well. He said he put his hands on her shoulders after she refused.
The officer who filed the affidavit said he then talked to the victim, who said Brosentisch grabbed her by the shoulders and pulled her toward him, then grabbed her sweatshirt and swung her to the ground. When she tried to kick him away, Brosenitsch held her up by the hood of the sweatshirt, restricting her breathing.
Brosentisch’s charges include a felony count of strangulation, and misdemeanor counts of simple assault and endangering the welfare of children, as well as summary counts of disorderly conduct and harassment.
Brosentisch is being held in lieu of $15,000 bail.
