Pamela Sue Kelly Parmenter, 73, of Clearwater, Fla., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, just one day shy of her 74th birthday.

She was born on Jan. 1, 1951, in Butler, to the late Reid Kelly and Norma Staaf. She proudly touted that she was the first New Year baby born in Butler County for 1951.

Pamela was a devoted mother to her two sons, Edward (wife, Sara) and Joseph (wife, Ashley), a beloved grandmother to her grandson, Patryk (son of Edward and Sara), and supportive older sister to Cindy and Nancy. She took great pride in her family and cherished her role as a mother, grandmother and sister.

Pamela’s professional life was marked by her unwavering passion for early childhood education, a career she embarked on in 1986. Her dedication to nurturing and shaping the lives of young children was evident in her impactful work throughout the years.

She was a proud member of numerous professional and civic organizations, including the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Florida Association for the Education of Young Children (FLAEYC), Manatee Association for the Education of Young Children (MAEYC), Kiwanis, the American Association of University Women (AAUW), Soar In 4, and American Legion Auxiliary Post 275.

Throughout her life, Pamela was known for her kindness, commitment to service, and her tireless efforts to make the world a better place for children and families. Her legacy of care, compassion and dedication to education will live on through the many lives she touched. Pamela will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

PARMENTER — A memorial service to celebrate the life of Pamela Sue Kelly Parmenter, who died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. March 1, 2025, at BROWN AND SONS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 604 43rd St. West, Bradenton, Fla.
