Martha ‘Madeline’ Borkowski
Martha “Madeline” (Rodgers) Borkowski, 95, of Parker, went to be with the Lord Tuesday evening, Jan. 21, 2025, while at Clarview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Chicora on June 10, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Rodgers of Chicora and Sharon.
In 1952, she married the late Henry J. Borkowski Sr. in Pittsburgh, where they made their life and raised their family. In 1991, they relocated to Parker, to enjoy time with their grandchildren. She worked for the Kmart corporation for 35 years at various locations, finally retiring from the Clarion Kmart in 1995.
Madeline was an excellent cook, always hosting Sunday dinners for her family and friends. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, playing cards, watching game shows, listening to country music and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Diana (Joel) Fair of Parker; a son, Henry J. (Darlene) Borkowski Jr. of Washington, Pa.; three grandchildren, Julie Fair of Grove City, Amber Fair (Rex Page) of Parker and J.D. Fair of Parker; and five great-grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as their “Bubbie,” Braden and Colton Murray, Mallorie Fair, and Liam and Levi Page.
Besides her father and husband, she was preceded in death by a very (special) aunt, Martha Allene (Hilliard) Rodgers; and several special cousins.
BORKOWSKI — Friends of Martha “Madeline” (Rodgers) Borkowski, who died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, will be received from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker. The funeral will immediately follow at 4 p.m., with Pastor Andy Gundlach, from the Journey of Faith Church, officiating.
Interment will be held on Monday, Jan. 27, at the Perryville Cemetery.
