Andrew ‘Scooter’ Soltesz Jr.
Andrew J. “Scooter” Soltesz Jr., 65, of Zelienople, passed away on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025.
Born Sept. 9, 1959, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Andrew J. Soltesz Sr. and Frances R. (Kocevar) Soltesz.
Scooter was a 1978 graduate of Seneca Valley High School. He was a member of Divine Grace Parish, St. Gregory Church in Zelienople, where he served in the Knights of Columbus and held numerous volunteer positions. He was also a social volunteer for the Harmony Fire District and belonged to the Zelienople Hungarian Club. Scooter proudly served in the honor guard for the Sons of the American Legion in Zelienople. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing at the Zelienople-Harmony Sportsmen’s Club. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the 4 East Wing at Brighton Rehab & Wellness Center for their kindness and care of Scooter.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his brother, Thomas W. Soltesz, and his friend, Tracey Hughes, of Zelienople; his sister, Kathy A. Wehr and her husband, John, of Northpoint, Pa.; and his niece and nephews, Joanna Gallagher and her husband, Joe, of Chicora, Craig Wehr of Butler and Anthony Soltesz and his wife, Jazeel, of Ellwood City.
In addition to his parents, Scooter was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Holly Soltesz; and numerous aunts and uncles.
SOLTESZ — Friends of Andrew J. “Scooter” Soltesz Jr., who died Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Saturday, Feb. 1, at St. Divine Grace Parish, Gregory Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople. He will be laid to rest at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his honor to any of the organizations he volunteered with.
