Lyndora man charged with assault, threats
LYNDORA — Keith Alan Nebel, 43, of Lyndora faces criminal charges after making threats and swinging a rubber mallet at his neighbor at around 10:20 p.m. Sunday at an apartment complex at 606 Hanson Ave.
According to state police, Devin Parker, Nebel’s upstairs neighbor, said that Nebel became angry with Parker for making too much noise.
Parker said Nebel yelled at Parker, who yelled back. Parker heard Nebel say he was going to kill him if he kept making noise, and then Parker heard banging on the front door of his apartment.
Parker assumed it was Nebel and made his way down the steps. He determined that Nebel had broken his front door. When he opened it, he saw Nebel holding a rubber mallet, and the two began yelling at each other again.
According to Parker, Nebel again said he was going to kill him, and then swung the mallet at Parker. He missed, and hit the door frame. Parker shoved Nebel backward, shut the door and locked it.
After that, Parker went upstairs and called the police.
Nebel was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and disorderly conduct, all misdemeanors.
When police arrived Nebel had a large amount of blood on his left arm. Police saw a blood splatter mark by the metal mailboxes in front of the apartment building. Police concluded that it is likely Nebel hit his elbow on one of the mailboxes, cutting it open.
