Ronald Beverly
Ronald Beverly, 59, of Butler, died Friday at his residence.
Born Dec. 31, 1945, in New York City, he was the son of Russell S. and Catherine "Kate" (Simmons) Beverly.
Mr. Beverly had worked for the past three years for Readers Digest as a sales representative covering the Northeastern United States. Prior to that he was a sales representative for Refreshment Products and also the Carbojet Co.
He graduated from Duquesne University, where he played basketball. He attended high school and junior college in California, where he participated in several other sports, including football and track.
Mr. Beverly was a member of the Butler Basketball Boosters Club, the Butler Elks Lodge, Turtle Club, and the former Home Office in Butler.
In Butler, he was a former youth baseball coach and assistant varsity and junior varsity coach at Butler High School with Coach Mark Jula.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen C. (Horgan) Beverly, whom he married Aug. 7, 1971; a daughter, Shannon Shook, and her husband, Michael, of Meridian; two grandchildren, Luke and Isabella Shook; a brother, William S. Beverly of Berlin, Pa.
Mr. Beverly was preceded in death by a sister, Flora.
BEVERLY - Friends of Ronald Beverly, who died Friday, Sept. 2, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. St. Pauls Guild and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:40 a.m. Monday at the church to recite the Rosary.
