College roundup: Sliding SRU men’s, women’s basketball swept by Seton Hill as PSAC playoffs approach
Slippery Rock men’s basketball lost for the fourth time in its last five games as Seton Hill cruised to a 72-52 win Saturday.
All four SRU losses during this stretch have been by at least 10 points. The Rock (11-11, 7-7 PSAC West) have six games left to play and are fighting for a conference playoff spot.
Ike Herster scored 20 points and had nine rebounds, while Day Waters recorded 13 points, five boards and five assists in the loss.
Slippery Rock women’s basketball dropped its fifth straight, and fifth in a row by double digits, 101-65 to No. 10 Seton Hill on Saturday.
SRU (7-13, 4-10 PSAC West) got a career-high 12 points off the bench from Rebecca Goetz. Anye Washington also scored 10 points.
Caden Traggiai won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:11.20 and the 500 free in 5:00.11 to help Penn State-Altoona men’s swimming beat Pitt-Bradford on Saturday 134-56.
Ishmael Leggett scored 16 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had four assists and three steals in Saturday’s 76-74 ACC loss at Wake Forest.
The Panthers fell to 14-7, 5-5 in conference play. Jaland Lowe recorded 14 points and five rebounds.
