Police Reports
The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:
Jan. 21 — Edward Paul Halagich, 54, of Butler, was charged with two misdemeanor counts each of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct following a Jan. 18 traffic stop in Butler. Police said Halagich was agitated, fidgety and raised his voice. Police said he resisted while officers attempted to place him into handcuffs.
Jan. 14 — Carlos Anthony Garcia, 32, of Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of escape, DUI and possession with intent to commit a crime following an Oct. 19 welfare check in Jefferson Township. Police said Garcia was passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle when they arrived. Garcia allegedly showed signs of impairment during field sobriety tests but refused a legal blood draw. Police said Garcia attempted to pick his handcuffs with a dental pick while in the police cruiser.
Jan. 14 — Sally Marie Dillaman, 39, of Harmony, was charged with felony retail theft in relation to a Dec. 21 incident in Muddy Creek Township. Police said Dillaman stole $99.95 worth of electronic smoking devices from behind a counter while the cashier was distracted.
Jan. 14 — Nathan Alan Fajohn, 55, of Slippery Rock, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following an Oct. 9 incident in Brady Township. Police said Fajohn threw a plastic baggie behind his back containing suboxone, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia after a bail bondsman attempted to take him into custody.
Jan. 21 — Brian Lee Tristani, 51, of Sarver, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and three misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia following a Jan. 2 traffic stop in Butler. Police said they found a paper fold containing tan powder where Tristani was sitting in the vehicle.
Jan. 21 — Joshua Lynn Lopes, 38, of Whitney, Westmoreland County, was charged with two felony counts of possessing controlled substances, three misdemeanor counts of possessing drug paraphernalia, two misdemeanor counts of possessing a controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of possessing a small amount of marijuana following a Jan. 2 traffic stop in Butler. Police said they found a glassine bag containing suspected heroin on his person. According to police, Lopes had an active warrant in Westmoreland County.
Jan. 21 — Rylin Ronald Reese, 24, of Butler, was charged with two misdemeanor DUI counts following a Dec. 23 traffic stop in Butler. Police said Reese showed signs of impairment, tested positive for marijuana and was driving without a valid license.
Jan. 14 — Frank David Fritz, 61, of Slippery Rock, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of DUI and possession of a controlled substance following a Nov. 25 traffic stop in Brady Township. Police said Fritz showed signs of impairment before and during field sobriety tests. Police said they found two bricks of suspected heroin, one opened with 10 stamp bags removed, in the center console of his vehicle.
