Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Selzer, 77, of Scott Township, Slippery Rock, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, at Harmar Village Care Center in Cheswick, Pa.

Betty was born in Pittsburgh on Feb. 26, 1947, to the late John Joseph Synan and Marcella Marie Sauer Synan.

Betty married Bernard Francis Selzer Sr. on Aug. 13, 1966, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 1997.

Betty enjoyed life. She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Slippery Rock. Betty was a homemaker, and family meant the most to her, especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Debbie (Scott) Kirkpatrick of Sherrills Ford, N.C.; son, Bernie Selzer Jr. of Slippery Rock; brothers, John Synan of Slippery Rock and William (Evie) Synan of Pittsburgh; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Ryan, Tyler, Justin, John, James, Rachel, Rebecca and Elijah; and great-grandson, Bryson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Monyak, Patricia Conroy and Katherine Popek.

SELZER — Family of Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Selzer, who died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at St. Faustina Parish, St. Peter Church, 670 S. Main St., Slippery Rock. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Plain Grove Township, Pa.
