The Butler County Symphony Orchestra will open the New Year on Saturday, Feb. 8.

The orchestra will present Tchaikovsky’s “Violin Concerto in D Major” at 7:30 p.m. in Butler Intermediate High School’s auditorium. A presentation of Shostakovich’s “Symphony Number 5 in D Minor” also will be presented at 6:30 p.m. for symphony patrons who arrive early.

Austin Chanu will return as guest conductor, along with David Kim, the Philadelphia Orchestra’s concertmaster.
