Supervisors approve Cranberry Highlands Clubhouse renovation contracts
CRANBERRY TWP — Supervisors awarded contracts that will provide face-lifts to the clubhouse and bunkers at Cranberry Highlands Golf Course during a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 6.
The most significant renovation will be a $415,701 roof replacement that came in well under the projected cost of $500,000 to $600,000 township officials had anticipated. Grahamboys LLC was the recipient of that contract.
“They (the bids) came in a little bit under our estimated cost,” said township manager Dan Santoro. “We were happy with the bids for the roof, for sure; as well as the plumbing. Those came in pretty good.”
A $15,841 contract for clubhouse plumbing repairs to be completed by Shipley Plumbing was also approved.
Additionally, supervisors approved a $50,000 contract with Fry Straka Globel for design services as part of sand bunker renovations on the course.
The banquet room in the clubhouse will also receive a few renovations with the approval of several purchase awards.
A $26,000 flooring contract was awarded to Butler Floor and Carpet. Painting services were given to Daniel P. Sturgess for $8,062. The room will also receive a new permanent bar courtesy of Brian Perry Custom Cabinetry at a cost of $15,250.
Township officials will look to begin those renovations in the immediate future while the course isn’t accommodating any players.
“We would hope that since the board authorized those contracts with those contractors that we get underway as soon as possible,” Santoro said. “We anticipate trying to do most of that work while the course is not in operation.”
