Public defender Jake Roberts running for judge
Jake Roberts, a public defender, announced his bid for judge of the Court of Common Pleas in Butler County in a statement on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
Roberts was chief public defender of Clarion County for five years and an assistant public defender in Allegheny County for three years.
“Jake has been a staunch advocate for those in need of legal representation, particularly through his work with the Drug Treatment Court and Behavioral Health Court in Clarion County,” the statement said.
Roberts served on the criminal justice advisory board and mental health task force during his time with Clarion County.
“Having spent countless hours in the courtroom, I understand the profound impact judicial decisions have on individuals and our community. I am committed to bringing my extensive experience, dedication to justice and a balanced approach to the bench,” Roberts said.
