SRU men, women both drop contests against Gannon
Jomo Goings totaled 14 points, becoming the 25th Slippery Rock University men’s basketball player to reach 1,000 in a Rock uniform, but his team lost to Gannon 84-59 at home Wednesday night.
The defeat was SRU’s fourth in as many outings, dropping it to 11-13 overall and 7-9 in PSAC West play. The Rock is gridlocked in a three-way tie for fourth place in the grouping.
Women’s basketball
Slippery Rock University slipped into a 17-0 hole to begin its matchup with No. 23 Gannon, never recovering and losing 81-40. Sophia Hook had a team-best nine points in the decisive loss.
