SLIPPERY ROCK On Oct. 13, students from the Slippery Rock School District attended OnSets, an Academic Games competition at Slippery Rock University.

Six district students qualified for the next level of competition at Geneva College in March.

They are: sixth graders Georgie Cupec, Steffanie Croll, Jeremy Pritts, James Yates, Ryan Dutton and fifth grader Emily Appel.

The sixth graders qualified as a team, placing second out of 28 teams. Cupec and Appel qualified as individuals.

These students are one step closer to qualifying for the national tournament which will be held in Kissimmee, Fla., next year.

GROVE CITY Gary L. Caldwell, an expert in safety and protection with more than 40 years of experience, will talk on worldwide safety and security at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Hall of Arts and Letters on Grove City College’s campus. .Caldwell is a 1969 graduate of Grove City.
