Edgar ‘Dub’ Armstrong

Edgar W. “Dub” Armstrong, 86, of Adams Ridge, Mars, passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 20, 2025, in the comfort of his home with his family at his side.

Born in Quitman County, Miss., on Sept. 28, 1938, he was the son of the late Edgar W. and Ruby West Armstrong.

Dub had served in the United States Navy during peacetime.

He was a truck driver and had driven for Tesone Trucking and Brandt Paving, and most recently he was an auto parts driver.

Surviving are his wife, Gertrude A. Bedford Armstrong, whom he married Nov. 22, 1958; a daughter, Belinda Armstrong (James Golick) of Mars; his two sons, Bruce Armstrong (Janie) of Lucinda, Pa. and Curtis Armstrong (Tracy) of Cranberry Township; his grandchildren, Philip (Rachel), John (Alyssa), Kristen (Craig), Erica (Josh), Logan, Jared (Katie), Kelsey (Nate) and Nicholas (Brianna); his great-grandchildren, Ronan, Isla, Charley, Elliott, Gabriel, Stella, Ella, Lily, Penelope, Noah and Ethan; his sister, Helen Rataiczak (Del) of Pompano Beach, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth, Robert and James Armstrong.

ARMSTRONG — Friends of Edgar W. “Dub” Armstrong, who died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Services will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Lawther officiating.
