Winter boot camp helps keep Zelienople residents active
Passavant Retirement Community residents Nancy Smith, Bob Spirk and John Stoyle are staying active this winter with exercise specialist Chad Ifft’s Winter Bootcamp.
Every Thursday, the camp helps people build strength, improve balance and have fun while staying active and fit. The class started about eight years ago, when its leaders simply set up chairs and weights and bands for attendees to exercise with. They would do each exercise for a minute then rotate around the chairs.
Over the years, the program has expanded to include equipment including a heavy bag, speedbags, medicine balls, battle rope and more. The class features 12 stations challenging agility, strength, coordination and balance. It has grown in popularity over the past couple years and continues to grow and succeed.
