Charles Friel
Charles H. Friel, 87, of East Brady, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at Sugarcreek Rest.
Born April 11, 1937, in East Brady, he was the son to Edward L. and Pearl E. (Rettig) Friel.
A 1955 graduate of East Brady High School, Chuck was employed by Schenley Distillery, and in 1956, he helped build and manage the Western Auto with his brother.
A U.S. Army Veteran, Chuck served from 1957-59; he then worked at the Rex Hide until 1977 and then Indespec until his retirement in 1999.
On Aug. 6, 1960, he married Sandra Schran. She preceded him in death on Oct. 6, 2015.
Chuck was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending winters in Myrtle Beach.
He is survived by one son, Chuck Friel of East Brady; and five grandchildren, Kole, Kaden, Kaitlyn, Shea and Leo Friel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sandy; one brother, Edward; and one sister, Mary Louise.
FRIEL — Friends of Charles H. Friel, who died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025, at BUECHELE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 707 Kellys Way, East Brady, PA 16028.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Pete Sapp officiating.
Military Honors and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Eusebius Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the Friel family asks that donations be made in Chuck’s name to East Brady Ambulance, PO Box 325, East Brady, PA 16028.
