Mental illness alliance starting spring support groups
The National Alliance on Mental Illness Butler County will begin two support group sessions in March.
NAMI’s Family-to-Family is a free, eight-session education program for family, friends and significant others of adults with mental health conditions. NAMI Family-to-Family provides information about anxiety, depressive disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other mental health conditions. Other topics covered include communication, problem-solving, treatment and recovery, and will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays from March 12 to April 30 at Passavant Retirement Community, 105 Burgess Drive in Zelienople. Registration is required and will close on March 5.
NAMI’s Peer-to-Peer is an eight-session recovery-focused course for adults with mental health conditions. It is free and confidential and led by peers with mental health conditions.
Sessions take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays from March 20 to May 8 at Holly Pointe Building, 220 S. Main St. in Butler. Registration is required and will close on March 13.
