Seneca Valley students earn gold in regional technical competition
Four Seneca Valley Senior High School students placed at this year’s SkillsUSA District 10 Competition, a program offered through the Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School. Students throughout the region traveled to the New Castle School of Trades to participate in a variety of skills and leadership contests.
The top competitors in each skill category earned gold medals, recognizing their outstanding performance and precision.
All four Seneca Valley competitors earned gold this year: Tucker Ray, 10th grade, in promotional bulletin board; Elizabeth Semenenko, 10th grade, in photography; Nathan Taylor, 12th grade, in ad design; and Gavin Uber, 11th grade, in TeamWorks.
These gold medalists will advance to the SkillsUSA Pennsylvania State Competition, April 2 to 4 in Hershey, where they will compete for a chance to represent the state at the national level.
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce, according to a news release from Seneca Valley School District.
This national organization serves teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in technical, skilled and service occupations, including health occupations and for further education.
