Joseph A. Klanica, 82, of Cabot, passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, at Allegheny Valley Hospital.

Joseph was born Sept. 10, 1942, in West Leechburg.

He was a graduate of Leechburg High School. Joe was a proud U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1965 to 1967. He retired from PPG as a research chemist. He attended Harvest Baptist Church in Natrona Heights and enjoyed woodworking, vacationing at the beach, camping and working on computers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Laverne (Milner) Klanica; two daughters, Darla (Terrence) Wiley of Natrona Heights and Andrea (Bryan) Neiderhiser of Indiana, Pa.; grandchildren, Andrew (Elizabeth) Wiley, Maura Wiley, Ainsley Neiderhiser and Arden Neiderhiser; two brothers; three sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother.

KLANICA — Friends of Joseph A. Klanica, who died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, 524 High St., Freeport.

Additional visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Feb. 26. A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home with Pastor Joe Miller officiating.

Interment with military honors conducted by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard will follow at Mount Airy Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Grove City College.
