The Butler County Symphony Orchestra is approaching its annual family concert of the season.
"Wild, Wild West" with fiddler Ken Metrick is planned for 7:30 p.m. Nov. 6 in the Butler Intermediate High School auditorium. A dance group will also perform.
Elisabeth Heath-Charles is the conductor and music director.
Seats are not reserved for this concert. Tickets cost $8 for adults and $5 for children in advance and at the door.

The community handbell choir called the Potpourri Ringers has scheduled some upcoming performances.Those dates include:Seneca Lodge 804, Dec. 1"Ringing in the Arts" New Year's Eve activities, Dec. 31North Hills Handbell Festival, April 2005Victory Lodge 694 anniversary dinner, April 15, 2005Hill United Presbyterian Church services, June 14 evening and June 15 morning, 2005.The group formed in 1998 and performs at churches, public facilities and for fraternal organizations, as well as in the Butler County Community College summer series and with the Butler County Symphony Orchestra. There are currently 27 members who hail from around Butler County. One even travels from Mercer County.They rehearse the first, third and fifth Mondays of each month between September and June.Director is Nancy Slezak. NEW CASTLE - Country music star Trace Adkins will perform in concert Nov. 13 to benefit the Lawrence County Fraternal Order of Police.The singer will take to the stage at Scottish Rite Cathedral at 7 p.m.Tickets are $30. To order tickets, call toll-free at 866-843-5023.Adkins, a Louisiana native, became a member of the Grand Ole Opry last year.His hits include "Every Light in the House," "(This Ain't) No Thinkin' Thing," "I Left Something Turned On at Home," "Chrome," "I'm Tryin,'" "Hot Mama," and his latest, "Rough and Ready."On Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, Adkins will sing the National Anthem live on CBS when the NFL's Detroit Lions host the Indianapolis Colts at 12:30 p.m. Later that evening, he will join the all-star salute to country legend George Jones on the special PBS broadcast, "George Jones - 50 Years of Hits," a two-hour concert featuring an eclectic group of artists performing some of the Possum's most celebrated hits.
