PIHL playoffs: Seneca Valley hockey claims top seed in 3A, Mars wins opener

Seneca Valley's hockey team earned the top seed in the PIHL Class 3A playoffs.
The Raiders (15-5) will face No. 8 Pine-Richland (8-12) in a quarterfinal at 7 p.m. Monday at Baierl Ice Complex.
In Class 1A, North Catholic and Mars both won first-round games this week to advance to the quarterfinals.
The Trojans (14-7) will take on Chartiers Valley (19-1) at 7:10 p.m. Monday at Mt. Lebanon Ice Complex.
Mars (18-3) will meet Shaler (17-4) at 9 p.m. Monday at Baierl Ice Complex.
