Bonzo

Sara R. Bonzo, 94, of Zelienople, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025.

Born Nov. 20, 1930, in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late William Stewart and Mable (Barr) Stewart.

Sara was a member of St. John’s Burry’s Church in New Sewickley Township. She worked for the Zelienople Area Public Library for many years. In her free time, Sara enjoyed baking, cooking and shopping. She also enjoyed gardening and planting flowers. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her loving family. She will be dearly missed.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Scott R. Bonzo; her daughter-in-law, Beth Bonzo; her grandson, Matthew Bonzo; her sisters-in-law, Reatha Bonzo and Velma Meiter; her brothers-in-law, Lester (Nancy) Bonzo and John Yurkew; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wilmer Ray Bonzo, who passed away in 2011; her son, Craig A. Bonzo; her infant daughter, Michelle Bonzo; her brothers, Bill, Roger and Russell Stewart; and her sister, Carol Yurkew.

BONZO — Friends of Sara R. Bonzo, who died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, will be received from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, March 3, at St. John’s Burry’s Church, 1835 Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074.

She will be laid to rest at St. John's Burry's Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to St. John’s Burry’s Church at the address above.
