The PIAA released the 2025 PIAA Basketball Championships brackets Sunday afternoon.

Seven Butler County teams will compete in the boys and girls tournaments beginning Friday. North Catholic’s boys and girls teams will host their Class 4A openers this weekend, while three-time District 9 champ Karns City girls effectively has a home game at Moniteau High School when it hosts Ellwood City on Friday in the 3A opener.

Here are the first-round matchups, sites and times for every Butler County team.

Friday, March 7

6 — Class 5A first round: Mars at West York

7 — Class 4A first round: Hickory at North Catholic

7:30 — Class 4A first round: Knoch vs. Cathedral Prep, at Hagerty Center

Friday, March 7

7 — Class 3A first round: Ellwood City vs. Karns City, at Moniteau

Saturday, March 8

1 — Class 5A first round: Mars at West York

1 — Class 4A first round: Slippery Rock at Oakland Catholic

1 — Class 4A first round: Penn Cambria at North Catholic
