Alice Maksanty, 68, of Butler passed away Monday, Feb. 24, 2025.

She was born in Butler on June 1, 1956, and was the daughter to the late Glenn and Elizabeth “Betty” (Stock) Smith. Alice graduated from Butler High School in 1975. She loved to go out and play darts and watch Penguin and Steeler games.

Alice was the beloved wife of Jimmy Maksanty, whom she was with for 18 years and since their marriage on Aug. 12, 2023; mother of Mark Smith; sister of Mary Lee, Liz and Buddy (Marie); grandmother to one.

Her husband said, “Alice was the kindest, most caring woman I ever met. She was my lover, my friend, and my soulmate. Fate brought us together. I love you now and forever.”

MAKSANTY — Family and friends of Alice Maksanty, who died Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2025, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A closing prayer will immediately follow in the funeral home.
