Fire closes Roosevelt Blvd. in Butler
A section of Roosevelt Boulevard in Butler was closed on Wednesday night, March 5, near the intersection with Route 8 as multiple emergency crews responded to a shed fire.
The incident was first reported around 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday as a house fire, and multiple departments responded, leading to the blocking-off of a section of the road. It eventually became clear that only the shed was endangered.
According to Lt. Floyd Lohr of the Butler Bureau of Fire, the fire was under control in approximately 10 minutes.
“Because of the general wind direction, the fire was actually going away from the residents,” Lohr said.
Roadways were open by 8:15 p.m.
Three residents were in the home at the time, and according to Lohr, none of them were injured.
The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation, according to Lohr.
In addition to the Butler Bureau of Fire, the VA Butler Fire and Emergency Services, Butler Township Volunteer Fire Department, and Butler Ambulance Service responded to the fire.
