Identities confirmed in Washington Township deaths
The identities of two men whose bodies were found on Wednesday, Feb. 26, were confirmed by assistant coroner Korynne Young on Thursday, March 6.
The bodies found by police at a home in the 100 block of Swope Road in Washington Township Feb. 26 were confirmed to be father and son Donald Lee Swope, 76, and Andrew Scott Swope, 53.
An obituary for the two men was published online by Jamison-McKinley Funeral Home on Thursday. It listed the date of death as Feb. 26.
Jonathan Weaver, funeral director, was able to confirm that the deaths occurred along Swope Road.
The call for the two men came in around 4:08 p.m. on Feb. 26, reporting carbon monoxide in the residence, according to scanner traffic. State police and Butler Ambulance Service responded to the incident.
Police said the home tested negative for carbon monoxide.
According to Young, the cause of death is pending.
