Rosie O’Donnell becomes latest comedian to leave U.S. after Trump’s reelection
Comedian, actor and Donald Trump nemesis Rosie O’Donnell has become the latest celebrity to flee the U.S. in the wake of the president’s reelection.
O’Donnell told fans on Tuesday that she and her 12-year-old child moved to Ireland on Jan. 15, just five days before Trump returned to the White House to begin his second term.
“When it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back,” the 62-year-old Long Island native said on TikTok. “It’s been heartbreaking to see what’s happening politically and hard for me personally as well. The personal is political, as we all know.”
O’Donnell and Trump have famously insulted one another over the years. Their nasty feud came to a head during the 2016 presidential debates when moderator Megyn Kelly noted Trump had called women “pigs, dogs, slobs,” and he interrupted to say “Only Rosie O’Donnell.”
The “League of Their Own” star confessed on Tuesday there are many things she misses about being in the U.S., and never thought she’d actually leave. But she said her time in Ireland has been “wonderful” and that she’s currently in the process of getting her citizenship as she has Irish grandparents.
O’Donnell’s announcement comes less than three months after comedian Ellen DeGeneres and actress Portia de Rossi decamped to the U.K. from their home in California. The couple reportedly became “very disillusioned” with Trump’s victory in the election and were determined to “get the hell out,” a source told TMZ.

Gigi Hadid breaks silence on Bradley Cooper romance after 1 year
Gigi Hadid has finally broken her silence on her romance with Bradley Cooper, over a year after they were first linked.
The 29-year-old supermodel spoke to Vogue about her “very romantic and happy” relationship with the 12-time Oscar nominee, 50, in an interview published Tuesday.
“You want to give yourself a normal experience of dating,” said Hadid, who met the “Maestro” star and director at the backyard birthday bash for a mutual friend’s child. But, being famous, “There’s another added layer of privacy and security.”
Hadid, who shares 4-year-old daughter Khai with ex-boyfriend and One Direction alum Zayn Malik, said it’s “essential” to discover “what you want and deserve in a relationship.
“And then to find someone that is in a place in their life where they know what they want and deserve … and you both do work separately to come together and be the best partner that you can be. I just feel really lucky. Yeah, lucky’s the word,” she said.
Cooper, similarly, shares 7-year-old daughter Lea with supermodel ex Irina Shayk.
While Hadid shared she does “respect him so much as a creative” — and Cooper similarly encourages her, even prompting her to “take the leap” and go on auditions — she said she hopes to keep elements of their love story private. The “sources” who shed light on it meanwhile get their info “kind of right and kind of wrong,” she says.
“You can’t always correct everything,” said Hadid, who has been linked to Cooper since October 2023.

Jay-Z rape accuser claims on recording Tony Buzbee ‘pushed’ her to sue
NEW YORK — The anonymous woman who sued Jay-Z late last year claims attorney Tony Buzbee “pushed” her to falsely accuse the music mogul of raping her, along with Sean “Diddy” Combs, in a since-dismissed lawsuit.
The Jane Doe told private investigators that Buzbee — who’s representing over 100 Diddy accusers — encouraged her to sue Jay-Z for allegedly assaulting her at an after-party following the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000, when she was 13 years old.
In a recording obtained by ABC News, the woman can be heard telling investigators that Jay-Z “was there” at the after-party in question, but did not actually touch her.
When asked by investigators if Jay-Z, now 55, “was just there but didn’t have anything to do with any sexual acts” toward Jane Doe, the woman simply responds, “Yeah.”
She says Buzbee “kind of pushed” her into going forward with the lawsuit against the rapper, but doesn’t know why.
In response to the recording, Buzbee issued a statement to ABC News, calling Doe’s claims “a blatant lie.” He also provided his own recording of a call with the accuser, in which she says she “never said” she made up the rape allegation and denies she accused Buzbee of pushing her to sue the rapper to get more money.
Jay-Z has vehemently denied the “heinous” claims against him since they were first made in December. His attorney, Alex Spiro, told the outlet his client never even met the woman.
Doe initially sued Combs in October, in the weeks after the Bad Boy founder was arrested on federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. She refiled her lawsuit in early December to include Jay-Z, but ultimately dropped the lawsuit last month.
In a sworn declaration, the accuser said she felt intimidated and while she “ultimately chose not to pursue” her allegations of rape, she still “stand[s] by” them, per ABC News.
Earlier this month, Jay-Z filed a defamation lawsuit against the Jane Doe, Buzbee, and lawyer David Fortney, alleging the woman’s claims cost him $20 million.
