Independence Health System announced that Butler Memorial Hospital and Clarion Hospital are expanding their lung cancer screening program with enhancements to the Advanced Lung Center.

The Advanced Lung Center is staffed by a multidisciplinary team specializing in pulmonology, thoracic surgery, oncology and radiology

Those health care professionals can conduct low-dose computed tomography screenings which help detect lung cancer early, even in patients without symptoms, leading to better outcomes and more treatment options.

Last summer, Butler Memorial Hospital installed the Siemens SOMATOM FORCE dual-source CT scanner, further advancing the facility’s advanced imaging technology.
