Genealogical society to host talk on Western Pa. woman
Butler County Genealogical Society will sponsor a talk about Massey Harbison at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, in the downstairs meeting room of the Butler Area Public Library, 218 N. McKean St.
In May 1791, Massey and her children were kidnapped from their log cabin by Native Americans. Her tale is of her experiences: her capture, her time with the Native Americans, her escape and her journey through the wilderness to return home.
The presenter will be Rick Reifenstein, president of the Evans City Historical Society and Massey’s fourth great-grandson.
Nonmembers are welcome to attend.
