Gibsonia woman charged with alleged hit and run in Adams Township

A Gibsonia woman is facing multiple charges in relation to an alleged incident that took place on Feb. 21 at Breakneck Tavern in Adams Township.

On March 13, Adams Township police charged 68-year-old Kim Angiulli with one misdemeanor count of accidents involving death or personal injury, four misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence, four summary counts of failure to stop and render aid and five summary counts of failure to contact police about an accident.

According to an affidavit, Adams Township police were called to Breakneck Tavern for a woman who reported that she had been struck by a vehicle.

The victim explained that while walking to her vehicle, she saw a vehicle back out of a parking space and back straight into a Toyota Sequoia.

According to the affidavit, after the victim went to take a photo of Angiulli’s license plate, Angiulli backed the car into her and struck her knee. The victim alleged that Angiulli hit the gas and knew what she was doing.

An Adams Township police officer drove to Angiulli’s residence, where she explained that while at Breakneck Tavern someone had tried to extort her for money.

Police say Angiulli declined a preliminary breath test and field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. The affidavit states that Angiulli provided two breath samples which returned a legal blood alcohol content of .08 at 10:34 p.m. that evening.

A preliminary hearing in front of District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz is scheduled for April 2 at 10 a.m.
