The Pennsylvania Game Commission is holding a series of Hunter/Trapper Education courses across Butler County over the remainder of 2025. Training in one of these courses, or an online equivalent, is required to purchase a hunting license.

Courses will be conducted on March 29 at the West View Hunting & Fishing Club, April 5 at the Evans City Sportsman Club, May 18 at the Valley Dam Sportsmen’s Snowmobile Association, June 2 and 3 at the Summit Township Sportsman’s Club, July 5 at the Tarentum District Sportsmen’s Club in Buffalo Township, July 19 at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, Aug. 5 and 6 at Butler Township Park, Aug. 23 at the Mars Rod and Gun Club, and Sept. 23 and 24 at the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club.
