Man arrested at Diamond Park held in jail
A man arrested near a Diamond Park protest Saturday afternoon, March 15, has been charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
George Cedeno Jr., 33, of Butler, was taken into custody after a group protesting potential federal education and Social Security cuts called 911. Cedeno allegedly blocked traffic and laid down on Main Street, as well as dancing and dodging cars. The arresting officer said in a police report that Cedeno made aggressive moves toward him, as well as the protesters at Diamond Park.
The rally was organized by the Butler County Democratic Committee. Butler city police responded to the call when protesters called 911 after they had previously tried to get Cedeno off the street.
His bail was set at $25,000. He remains in jail. His preliminary hearing is set for March 24 before District Judge William Fullerton.
