Benedum

Mr. S. Dale Benedum, 69, of Zelienople, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025, at UPMC Passavant-McCandless Hospital, in McCandless Township.

Dale was born July 22, 1955, in Ellwood City. He was the son of the late Glenn and Marium (Floss) Benedum.

He had graduated from Riverside High School and later from the University of Pittsburgh, earning a doctorate degree in business. Dale was affiliated with the Ellwood City Children’s Center and Rochester Alloy. He also was a member of Divine Grace Parish. Dale enjoyed motorcycles in his younger days, and recently, going to car shows and was an avid NASCAR fan.

Dale leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Sylvia; his brother, Bruce Benedum; and his cousin, Bill (Karen) Benedum. He also leaves behind his two Boston terriers, Grace and Junior, whom he affectionately called his two mooches.

BENEDUM — Family and friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday at SAMUEL TEOLIS FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 309 Spring Ave., Ellwood City.

A Mass of Christian burial will held at 10 a.m. Friday at Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church, 415 Fourth St., Ellwood City.

Interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park in Rochester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dale’s name may be made to Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
