Lawrence Nightingale
Lawrence K. “Larry” Nightingale, 84, of Jackson Township, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014.
He was born on July 31, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Valentine and Anna (Mueller) Nightingale.
Larry was an Army veteran who was stationed in Alaska during the Korean War.
He retired from Nationwide Insurance, where he served as vice president. Larry was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Parish. He was very athletic and health conscious and was active at Aultman North.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gene (Kiernan) Nightingale; his four children, Cynthia Leigh of Charlotte, N.C., Joan (Donald) Moore of Williamsburg, Va., Thomas Nightingale of Pittsburgh; and Patrick Nightingale of Pittsburgh; his seven grandchildren, Michelle, Jacquelyn, Bryan, Jordon, Austin, Perrin and Anderson “Mac”; his three great-grandchildren, Callie, Landon and Seadon; his two sisters, LaVerne Bobal and Shirley Roman; and his many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kathryn Nightingale, and his sister, Arlene Genutis.
Nightingale — A memorial Mass for Lawrence K. “Larry” Nightingale, who passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, was celebrated Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Canton, Ohio.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, PO Box 9460, Canton, OH 44711-9460.Arrangements were under the direction of the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home.
