Andrew Slaugenhoup recorded eight kills as Butler’s boys volleyball team won its second straight early in the season, beating Norwin 3-0 by set scores of 25-14, 25-15, 25-22 on Thursday.
Kole Wojnar dished out 16 assists for the Golden Tornado (2-1), Mason Anderson had nine digs and three aces, and Zane Steimer blocked three attack attempts.
Mars 3, Montour 0 — The Planets swept the Spartans by scores of 25-21, 25-23 and 25-15. No other details were available.
A trio of Knoch hurlers limited Burrell to just four hits in an 8-1 victory for the Knights.
Starter and winning pitcher Alexander Eddy was charged with the lone run, scored in the top of the second inning, while striking out three and walking none in four innings of work.
The Knights (2-1) broke the game open with three runs in the fifth inning and scored three more in the sixth.
Cooper Allison had two hits, including a triple, scored twice and drove in two runs.
