Mikus

Joyce K. Mikus, of Gibsonia, passed away Monday, March 24, 2025.

Born in Pittsburgh on March 2, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Henry Volkert and Emerald Neill Volkert.

She was the devoted wife for 69 years of Harry J. Mikus; loving mother of Lisa Ibinson (Thomas) and Lori Kremer (Dean); and proud grandmother of Henry Ibinson, Thomas Ibinson (Julia), Jack Ibinson, Emma Kremer and Claire Kremer.

Joyce was raised on Mount Troy, where she graduated in 1950 from Millvale High School and was voted “Sweetheart of Millvale High.” Always recognized by her trademark red hair, she was a longtime homemaker and caring friend to many. She most loved being with her family and grandchildren, and she will forever remain our “Sweetheart.”

MIKUS — Private interment for Joyce K. Mikus, who died Monday, March 24, 2025, will be held in Allegheny County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Good Samaritan Hospice.
