Elma Evelyn (Hall) Cajka

Elma Evelyn (Hall) Cajka, 82, of East Deer Township, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, passed away Tuesday after a six-month fight with cancer.

Born June 6, 1933, in Russellton, she was preceded in death in 1988 by her husband, Anthony Cajka, a career naval officer who was born in Saxonburg in 1931.

She is survived by her mother, Ella Baker, 102, of Russellton; her children, Daniel Cajka, retired colonel of the U.S. Marine Corps., of Erie, Clifford and his spouse, Diane, of Hagensborg, British Columbia, Canada, David and his wife, Cindy, of Cheswick, Pa., and Patricia and her husband, the Rev. David Temples, of Dothan, Ala.; her sister, Leora Ansillo of Arnold, Pa.; her grandchildren, Nathaniel Cajka of Memphis, Tenn., and Rachel, Christopher, Daniel and Calvin, all of Dothan, Ala.

She leaves many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, mostly in the Pittsburgh area.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ruben Baker

Elma, with her husband and children, lived in South Carolina, Maryland, Hawaii, California, Massachusetts, Washington State, Virginia and Fairview Borough, Butler County. She has lived in East Deer Township since returning to the area in 1988 and has been the primary caregiver to her now centenarian mother, Ella.

Elma worked in the dietetics field at several facilities in the region, including the Children's Rehabilitation Center of Saxonburg, the VA hospital in Butler and St Margaret's Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Elma loved the company of her family, friends and dogs. Elma is remembered as friendly, hardworking, possessing an abundant sense of humor and having courage in the face of life's challenges.

CAJKA — Friends of Elma Evelyn (Hall) Cajka, who died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, will be received from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday.She will be laid to rest at the East Union Church Cemetery, West Deer Township.View obituary online and leave condolences at www.siwicki-yanickofh.com.
