Mars Area School District’s Planet Foundation is seeking community members interested in serving on the organization’s board of directors.

The foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt, charitable organization that raises money to promote and finance educational programs, activities and other projects within the school district.

This includes giving out scholarships to students and raising money through advertisements on the athletic complex’s scoreboard and for other educational purposes.

The board typically meets on the third Tuesday of each month at the district’s administration office. Duties include assisting the foundation with teacher enrichment grants, student scholarships and fundraising. Anyone interested in serving on the board is asked to email admin@marsplanetfoundation.com.
