Beulah “Boots” McCormick, 103, of Chicora died of natural causes at 1:30 a.m. Sunday in Whispering Acres Personal Care Home, Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County.

The former Beulah Plunkard was born March 17, 1910, in Fredericksburg, Perry Township, Armstrong County, the daughter of the late Henry H. and Sadie Lynch Plunkard.

She recently celebrated her 103rd birthday on St. Patrick's Day.

She was the oldest living member of the St. John Reformed Church, Chicora, where she was very active in the Ladies Aid Society of the church. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters.

She was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Chicora Volunteer Fire Department and a charter member of the Chicora Senior Center.

She is a member of the St. John's Reformed Church in Chicora.

She married the late Ralph “Mike” McCormick in June 1934. He died Sept. 23, 1985.

They have four living children, Patricia (James) Fleeger of Chicora, William McCormick of Chicora, Donna McCue of Chicora and Shirley (Silvio) Andreassi of East Brady; and one son-in-law, Thomas Barnhart of Fenelton. She had 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, seven stepgreat-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was preceded in death by 10 siblings. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen (Mrs. Thomas) Barnhart, and three grandsons-in-law.

McCormick — Friends of Beulah “Boots” McCormick, who died Sunday, June 23, 2013, will be received at the STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, Chicora, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. An additional viewing hour will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. John Reformed Church (Red Brick Church), 334 West Slippery Rock Street, Chicora. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. John Pistorius, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Reformed Cemetery Chicora.Instead of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Chicora Volunteer Fire Department, Drawer F, Chicora, PA 16025, or to the St. John Reformed Church, 334 W.
