Vehicle stolen in Butler crashes after pursuit
A vehicle stolen in Butler was pursued by police into Shaler on Wednesday afternoon, April 23.
Chief Sean Frank of Shaler Township Police Department said police were called to the scene of a crash on Eighth Avenue, just off Route 8, around 1 p.m.
“It was a dead-end road, and the vehicle was found 30 or 40 feet over the embankment,” Frank said.
Frank also clarified that the suspect was alone in the vehicle and was removed by police at the scene.
The car was originally stolen in Butler. The driver was pursued by Hampton police further down Route 8 and into Shaler, Frank said.
City police will be in charge of the investigation.
