Peeps decorate Newhaven Court in Center Township

CENTER TWP — Although Easter had ended, people still had some Peeps lying around.

Newhaven Court at Clearview had its “Peep Show” event Wednesday afternoon, April 23, where residents could vote on their favorite diorama display submitted by the court’s employees and some outside agencies, which each featured Peeps.

Tracy Fencil, community relations director for Newhaven Court at Clearview, said the agency puts the event on each year as a way to entertain residents and engage the community. Although the event garnered only four diorama submissions, residents who came through the cafeteria Wednesday still got a laugh from them — one depicting a dinosaur eating terrified Peeps, and another being a play on the Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival, “Peep Jeep.”

Lifesteps submitted the Peep Jeep display, which was made by clients and employees in collaboration. Stacy Newcaster, a client of Lifesteps who attended the event, said the display took about three days to make.

“Stacy’s brother has a Jeep, so we used that,” said Suzanne Carr, adult day health services supervisor with Lifesteps. “We thought about it a while back, then made it over three days.”
