UPMC expanding pharmacy network
PITTSBURGH — The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Health Plan announced it will expand its network of pharmacies by up to 30,000.
The new network, effective Jan. 1, 2007, will include pharmacies from chains like Eckerd, Target and Rite Aid. The UPMC network previously consisted only of independent pharmacies and those at the grocery chain Giant Eagle.
