Some schools delay start Tuesday; brief warm-up expected Wednesday
Snow is still making for slick road conditions which has prompted some schools to tweak their schedules.
The following schools have two-hour delays: Butler Area; Butler County Vocational Technical; Freeport; Holy Sepulcher; Karns City; Mars; Moniteau; Seneca Valley (with modified kindergarten); Slippery Rock Area; South Butler (with modified kindergarten); St. Kilian Parish; St. Luke Lutheran; St. Stephen's Lutheran
The county's two colleges have also made alterations: Slippery Rock University will move to remote learning for morning classes; and Butler County Community College will open its campus at 9:30 a.m.
According to the forecast by the National Weather Service of Pittsburgh, Butler County is expected to have a high of 27 and low of 22 throughout the day and night.
The forecast shows increasing temperatures with a possible high of 39 Wednesday that could come with a possible wintry mix of rain and snow. That mix of precipitation could continue into the evening hours, when it could reach a low of 14.
